Fragrance Concentration

Perfumes, whether for men or women, contain a fragrance concentrate (essential oils) diluted in a mixture of alcohol and water. In reality, the fragrance concentration percentage and its level of alcohol influence how long the scent lasts, and determine its category. There are four types of perfume with specific characteristics:

Eau de Cologne

This is the lightest, least persistent type of perfume. Its concentration varies from 2% to 5%. The product is fresh, invigorating and associated with a concept of cleanliness and freshness.

Eau de Toilette (EDT)

One of the most popular types of perfume, eau de toilette is perfect for regular, everyday use. Its concentration varies from 5% to 12%. The top notes make up half the fragrance. The perfumer places emphasis on the freshness and unfurling of the fragrance.

Eau de Parfum (EDP)

Sometimes called parfum de toilette or esprit de parfum, its concentration varies from 12% to 20%. Eau de parfum is long-lasting and remains for 5 to 10 hours. The middle notes make up most of the fragrance. The perfumer highlights these notes to enhance the perfume’s sparkle. More concentrated than eau de toilette, eau de parfum is generally more tenacious and leaves a stronger scent trail.

Perfume / Extrait

Also known as extrait de parfum, this is the most concentrated product. Its concentration varies from 20% to 40% in an extra-fine alcohol solution of 96%. This fragrance lasts longer than other types and is generally reserved for special occasions, especially for the evening and night. Base notes make up most of the fragrance. The perfumer places emphassis on the noble quality of the base notes to reinforce its tenaciousness and volume. A few drops of perfume applied directly to the skin, preferably on the pulse points, are sufficient to reveal its trail and intensity.

Anfar Leather Oud is one of the best oud perfumes I came across. It's elegant losing lasting. This does not smell like any other perfume nor does it seem to be replicating another perfume. I personally own a collection of different Tom Ford perfumes and they are not alike, Leather Oud definitely don’t smell cheap and I see it competing with designer perfume, the closest Tom Ford to Anfar Leather oud could be Tom Ford Tuscan Leather however they are still very different but I understand why some see them being similar. Overall it’s a wonderful smell with good longevity 5/5, it remains on your clothes for days. after 4-5 days, you still can smell the remnance. This high quality oud perfume in a quarter of the price you pay for designer perfumes so this is indefinitely worth every penny.

What an amazing oud perfume! I am now on my second bottle of Leather Oud. Every time I smell it pleases me. I like the woody smell of Oudh... The smell lasts for hours and very little needs to be applied else it becomes an overpowering smell. It is a very beautiful leathery vanilla very nicely covering the deep Oud scent that is subtle but very noticeable. It is a sweet yet quite masculine scent that is very intriguing and will have you sniffing yourself. The longevity is still being tested however it will vary from different skin types and clothes materials, it’s 10 hours in and still noticeable. You don't need more than 3 sprays as this is quite overpowering in its top notes Overall for an Oudh Parfum. This is a very reasonable price for the quality, £45 /50 is a bargain for a high class product in a quarter of the price you pay for designer perfumes. So this is definitely worthy 10/10 well deserved. Must have perfume.
